MIND Readings
This trip provided the time to go deep with three incredible books. Thomas Metzinger’s THE EGO TUNNEL is mind bending, exploring how we create the virtual worlds we live in through the latest in neuroscience. This area of research closely relates to many of the central concerns I’m trying to express through the CARBON installations. Jonah Lehrer’s PROUST WAS A NEUROSCIENTIST offers wonderful accounts of artists pre-saging scientific discoveries related to perception and James Gleick’s CHOAS is a classic. Thanks to these authors the fertilizer between my ears is richer.
